Problem

Medical school students need to practice interacting with patients to gather medical information and history as part of their studies. However, it is not possible for them to do all their practice with real patients.

Outcome/Impact

A virtual emergency room patient simulation designed to help medical students practice focused history-taking and physical exam skills in a structured, step-by-step format. Learners interact with a simulated patient presenting with nausea and vomiting, asking targeted questions and receiving concise, realistic responses that mirror real clinical encounters. The experience includes strict guardrails that prevent guidance or diagnosis, reinforcing independent clinical reasoning. It then transitions into a physical exam module, supporting proper evaluation and documentation in a safe, repeatable learning environment.
